Please Fuck Off Paris Hilton

Let me qualify that by saying, I don't have anything against Paris Hilton. I don't even know Paris Hilton. So when I ask her to please, please fuck off, I mean her public image, specifically. She is not in complete control of it, as no celebrity is, but I must admit that I am nearing the breaking point for wandering by a newsstand, grazing over the magazines at the supermarket checkout area, and being inundated with every goddamn detail of her special little life. I suppose I am just bugged at what she epitomizes: Our American fascination with rich, good looking, young, talent-free, unencumbered with any responsibility, celebrity party-things.
I know this is a useless excersise, tapping away at my keyboard about how over I am with seeing this person give her "I know I'm hot - -guess what, I'm RICH, TOO!!!" -look at EVERY RED CARPET EVENT IN THE WORLD, but hey, this is my site.
I know she is a real person, and I really don't mean her any harm or ill will. Maybe when I say PLEASE FUCK OFF PARIS HILTON, I am really saying PLEASE FUCK OFF People Magazine, US Magazine, In Touch Magazine, The Star (now printed on "please see us with more credibility" gloss-finish paper), and Entertainment Tonight, Extra Hollywood, and all the rest. You get the point.
I would think if I had a daughter, I would be horrified if she idolized Paris Hilton, only because she was jammed down her throat and there was no one else around. We as a country tend to do that: accept what is available, repetition breeds adoration. Makes me wonder: where are the young female role models out there in the public eye that are worth being jammed down our throats? Someone with some spirit, creativity, spark???
I am an adult. I know this will never change, in fact it will only get more exaggerated. The next "Paris Hilton" will be even younger, better looking, worth twice as much money, be ten times more vacant,
...and have a sex video with much improved cinematography. And we will be forced to be updated on her every breath and every blink of her eye.
You know, this whole time I forgot that I also want to send out a similarly motivated request:
PLEASE FUCK OFF BRITNEY SPEARS

i couldn't have said it better myself. go on with your bad self! it is pretty despicable, i must admit. i wonder if anyone really does care about her goings-on. really. it's all crazy talk, i tell you.
just seeing how horrible they (paris & nicole richie) treat small town folk and farmers and (gasp) 'not rich' people makes me feel really sorry for their souls. the people profiled on the show have a lot more going for them than the millions of dollars these girls have inherited.
having lived in the midwest for about 3/4 of a year over the past 3 yrs, i have friends who grew up on farms or came from nothing- and have met extremely wealthy people from these same rural towns (ok, the walmart family owns most of the college town that univ. of mo is based out of...and several sports franchises, for e.g. and they are pretty humble, nice people, despite their wealth)...my point being, they are just as smart, capable & with it than most people, if not more so.
it does go to show that money cannot buy you class!

Sorry Steve....did you say Rich? I can't remember if you may have mentioned it quietly in the above post... :)
They just make me want to puke from all the way across the Atlantic.

I dont Watch the news much (ylais wont let me LOL) or read magazines/newspapers.
Who the fuck is Paris Hilton?
Mind you I know exactly the type you mean!!
Very good point about Where are the role models for our daughters, I have five young adult daughters from a previous marriage, Luckily they seemed to grow out of the Britney stage fairly quickly.

David, you could stopwatching my tv, and get your own! :P just teasing, well only a little teasing.
The news is on tv so much in the UK, and I turn it off, since it's disturbing, and gets me angry. On the internet, at least I have a bit more choice over which news I want to look at. If any. I prefer, news from my friends and family, and people and things I care about.
As for role models, mine were all male in rock, especially punk, bands. John Lydon for instance! :)
Blame him for what I'm like now! :P I still think he's great.

Funny you should mention Paris Hilton. Here is a great site that I recently stumbled upon, and they seem to share your point of view: http://www.thesuperficial.com

I myself think Ms. Hilton is actually pretty cool, man.
She is certainly easy on the eyes and I really like the kind of naive arrogance she has... Ah, the innocence of someone who just doesn´t know any better...! How could her? She was probably raised in a glass dome or something, protected from all the ugliness of the "real world" - kind like Buddha (ever read that tale?)... So maybe, given time and many re-incarnations, she´ll find illumination some day... Kinda like the rest of us, I suppose.
Oh God, but isn´t she tacky? And what are the peeps from 6767.com gonna think about me? Maybe I should hate her... I´ll try... Hmmm...
No, I cannot force myself to dislike her. Every time I see her pic I get a shot of sensual pleasure into my brain - and man, do I need those...! I actually think that Ms. Hilton represents exactly what the world needs (the whole world minus a few people like yourself, and that´s perfectly OK) And what this ugly fucked up world of ours needs right now is (among many other things)... MORE BEAUTY. Wether it´s art, or the rain forest or a beautiful woman, whatever - I wanna see it. Beauty makes me smile, man. It´s as simple as that.
And BTW, what should she do about her fortune? Since she seems to have been "accused" of being rich. Should she give everything away then? Would you?
Nah, I can´t bring myself to judge her or dislike her.
Britney on the other hand...lol!!!!

Steve,
You stated the problem quite well. The bottom line is that Paris, Britney and many other artificial creations are tools used by the media outlets in order to generate higher ratings and increase advertizing revenue. You correctly mention that 'we as a country ... accept what is available, repetition breeds adoration...". Where is the spirit, cultural awareness, creativity, and humanity behind many of these so-called role models? Unfortunately, many large corporations create and exploit these artificial talentless stars to influence the buying patterns of certain demographics.
If you can, please see the PBS documentary 'The Price of Cool' and the new Canadian documentary that was just released called "The Corporation". Both films were very enlightening and they exposed the mystery behind this issue.

sorry but personally i think Paris,Britney, and the whole lot of them comes across as total twits.Theres nothing wrong with being rich or beautifull, jus for gods sake do something more with it besides being known for being rich and beautifull, lol. My 11 year old, thankfully, tends to admire Angelina Jolie and Sharon Stone, the late princess Diana, among others.theyre beautifull, and rich, but also give back to the community.

While I wholeheartedly agree with your assessment, since I have a 13 year old daughter, I am wondering how you feel about Carmen Electra? Although she seems a sweet girl, her talents are equally superficial, and her assets are hugely fake.
Since she is w/Dave, I'm sure that she must be exempt from your criticism, but, as a Mom, my issues with her persona are the same ones I have with Britney and Paris.

Hey, Tammy
People like Paris, Carmen and Britney only shows us a fundamental truth in life: hot girls are and always will be popular. No matter what they do or - in this case - don´t do.
That´s just the way it is. Being a single male and not a parent yet I can honestly say that I´m pretty comfortable with that.
But I think that even if I had daughters I would NOT point those women out as "negative" examples in any way. I guess I´d just say: "That´s just ONE possible way for a girl to be. Go find your own".
Freedom of thought, freedom of BEING. As long as you´re not raping, stealing or murdering... It´s all fair game. So if you wanna be hot and not much else (BTW, I do think that CARMEN is much more than that), fair enough.
If you´re not fucking with someone else´s life and just doing your thing... Forget about "giving back to the community and blah blah blah". I do believe that in this day and age just taking care of your own business without harming others is good enough.
Just my 2 cents...

Yeah, i don't think it's right to put Carmen in the same category as Paris. Carmen is an amazing dancer and entertainer, and seems very sweet and down to earth. I have never seen any indication from her that she is full of herself or anything like that.
of course I don't really know Paris personally and don't feel it's right for me to say anything about her personality. I just don't see what the big deal is with her. Yeha, she's blonde and rich. So what? Is that supposed to be some kind of extraordinary accomplishment?

I honestly don't see what the big deal is with her. Yes she is attractive, perhaps not as much as others, but she really doesn't have any talent. She inherited more money than I could imagine ever having, and now she just parties all the time and tries to be a shocker celebrity with all of her decisions. She really doesn't do much else. There is the modeling, but I don't honestly believe that it takes some special talent to have your picture taken, you just have to look good. She has said that it is more fulfilling to spend her money that she has "earned" modeling, which I think is also a bunch of crap. She models because she can, and because its just something to do. She essentially has an endless bank account, and any more money is just useless, because I'd be surprised if even she could spend that much. I've heard that her sister, on the other hand, is rather smart and is actually doing something productive with her life, but I'm not 100% sure on that, that is only what I've heard.

Hey, Steve. I'd shoot you an e-mail instead of posting here, but I couldn't find your contact info. I did a write-up of the "Vegas Rock Star Poker" weekend, including the tourney we played in Thursday night, and I thought you might want to check it out. Shoot me an e-mail if you get a chance.
Peace,

Media voyeurism is nothing new. If the collective public would wise up and simply stop caring, the whole thing would crumble. But of course that'll never happen. Curiosity is part of human nature and it's expanded to a generational disease - a technology-driven cancer bent on pandemia via web-based propagation. Or in simpler terms - the Internet ain't helping.
On an unrelated note, I was starting to think I was the only one out there who appreciated Led Zep's 'In Through the Out Door'. It was my first intro to Zep and it's still my fave. As for 'Meddle', I own it on vinyl and it's the ugliest album cover I've ever seen, but one listen to "Fearless" can blot out the complete lack of visual appeal.

Steve-You said exactly what I have been thinking. It is absolutely true that the sexy woman image will probably never be much different then what it is today. However the skinny/beautiful girls that were my role models at least had some talent. I thought Britney Spears was the worst until Paris Hilton became a big hit. At least Britney can dance. Power, exposure, and money have all gone hand in hand, but just having money never made you a celeb. before. Do something with all that money-Except buy more stuff for yourself!!!
P.S. If you are a parnet-Never, never let your daughter even talk about the dumb, pretty, rich girl-Or she might grow up to be a slut too-Way to go on all the racism and porn videos Paris.

I think Paris Hilton is a bad role model for young woman, her status shows that having gords of money & than making a sex tape makes you worthy of being admired.
I have to admit I had never heard of her untill the sex tape came out than her silly show with another rich girl whos name I cant even rember.
It goes to show that having money can get you places does it get her respect id say NO whats to respect? The fact she models once in a while? Her perfume?
I heard she has a album coming out, does anyone truly think she can sing? Or act for that matter, and please with a clothing line? She has horrible taste in clothing.
As for beauty please remeber that alot of her is false, her hair is bleached and hair is bought extensions, her eyes arent even that royal blue color they are in fact brown, her skin is orange is this suppose to be a classic beauty?
As for Britney SPears, again I will say having money doesnt get you respect or class.
I will say thou that at least she worked to be where she is and whether you love her or not you cant deny that.
Please guys rember none of these woman Britney or Paris look to good without the hair dye, fake hair, fake tanns n boobs, we know :)

Paris is where she is cause of MONEY and cause she is rich and DRUNK all the time.
People find it interesting that she is so rich n wild thats about it.
Would her looks be so great if she was a nobody of course not.
Dont worry people the olsen twins wont be cute anymore after 25, hillary duff n lindsay whatever her name is all will be a thing of the past n a few years you will see.
Anyone memeber debbie gibson? Or Tiffany the red headed singer. ALL gone. Actors n singer s that appeal to kids can only last so long before they are not cute anymore
