Did you download Quicktime - you should have it installed anyway to see any video on the web. Beyond that, what browser are you using? And if you are on Almost On Line, try a different browser instead of theirs... it sucks.
Hi Steve: You guys go together so well. The song was great, you all rocked, and the song was original. You got your own sound. And that came across on that video. That larger than life vibe!
Oh dear, don't hate me because I don't have quicktime, I just got windows media, and I said I had aohell....grrr *sigh* walks away with head down....I will let you know in a couple hours if download was successful. Did I mention I don't have dsl...I don't get out much, good thing I saw you live!!!
jezebel
i just watched the video and i really really like it. You have an awesome voice and the music is still in my head.
I am really dying to hear more........please let us have some more bits......audio or video. (waves to "Obvious").
I have got to say how incredibly impressed I am by Go On. I love your voice. Sounds to me like a really cool mix between Chino Moreno and Maynard James Keenan. Jane's Addiction were/are one of my favoutite bands ever. That said, I think that your voice, the added dimension of another guitar and the fact that the other guys now seem more comfortable with each other has improved on that bands sound, albeit on the strength of one song.
Brett, my brother...
Someone else who isn't allowed to download quicktime, Now I know how the people who weren't able to see TPC feel, I mean, I was THERE, and I still am frustrated about not being able to download clip.
grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Damn it, this clip is the only thing that I regret now about going to Hawaii last week. You just HAD to play the night before my birthday, while I was out of town... Next time, I am there.
OK, being the perfectionist (and a slow day at work!) I added a title screen using Agency artwork and beefed up the Windows Media file to get smoother video.
Thanks all for being so into this.
Steve, lemme know if you want copies to host. Don't know how long I can keep them up.
i am on AOL too, and have been for so long, it's really hard to think about giving it up. but lately, for school, and now all this music stuff, i really want to get a high-speed connection. first, what type of high-speed connection do you suggest? dsl, cable, ...???
second, what's the best way to set up email when you have a high-speed connection? i like that i can store a lot of info on AOL, unlike yahoo, hotmail, etc. should i set up my own website? how hard is that? what program would i use to read and send email? i am not really that educated about the internet, so any suggestions would be appreciated.
Eureka!! Voila!!!
(insert expletive here!)
Thank you Craig, don't take this the wrong way...I love you!
Steve, I didn't think it could get better than being there live, but....OH...MY.....GOD....(in my best Janice from Friends voice)
IT CAN!!!!
it sounds even better the second time!
Thanks for making this available even to the most technochallenged.
Sarah, my love, I am feeling you....aogotohell...

hmmm.....sorry...I don't get it. Awfully disapointing for me. Anyway best of luck to you guys I guess....think I'll take Dave's advice and save the criticism...some people seem to really like it so...really...good luck. Guess I'll go see what Perry is up to :(
Do it. AOL is a massive rip off. I am assuming you are on Windows - here's my advice:
1. Get DSL (its usually around 30 bucks a month, you will get a new email address, but you can use it or not)
2. Use Outlook Express for mail - its free and comes with every Windows PC (on Mac, "mail" works fine)
3. You don't need a website. If you do want to start a blog - go for it, it's really easy. http://www.typepad.com
4. You can store tons on a regular email account that comes with a new dsl account, you store it on your computer so the sky's the limit. Or if you want "webmail" - access to your mail from any computer (like AOL) use GMail - the new free email service from Google. If you need an invite for an account, I'll send one to you (it's invite only at the moment).
the big picture is this - AOL sucks, they have for years, and they improve only minimally compared to the speed of innovation on the internet, while charging a premium for their weak service. High speed is the only way to go.
Hi Sarah, I use earthlink DSL and you get 5 email addresses with the acct, and there is enough space that I have never had any problems. I don't use outlook, but I know a lot of people who do. It isn't any more difficult than aol...at least I can't imagine from all the horror stories I've heard! Major plus= you can be on the phone and online at the same time without a second phone line! So that was a saving for me, because before had to have a second line...anyway, I highly reccommend switching. You will find that the CSUF library redources are a great help and that you can do just about everything from home if you get rid of that aol.
Abby, that's so funny that you mention the CSUF library resources.... i just got out of a library orientation upstairs all about the resources - like two minutes ago!!!
thank you Steve for your input. you obviously know a lot, so i find your opinion very valuable. i do like to be able to access my email from anywhere (especially since i spend so much time at school), so how is the storage capacity on Gmail? can i go back and check mail for weeks? months? years? or would i have to save them on my home computer? and can you receive large documents (like video and pictures)?
thanks for helping me kick the AOL addiction... more and more, people tell me that it sucks. everyone i know who knows computers tells me to get out. it's just so hard when it's the only thing i've known since i starting using the internet. but i have had much more exposure to much better ways of web-surfing thru the school libraries that have kick-ass connections. lately, i find myself coming to school just to use the internet!!!
Good God Man, what a freaking great song! I walked out of work today screaming "Go On"! First post, and I just had to tell you how good that sounded. I admit, this is the first I've heard of you, Sir, or Skycycle, but I'm damn glad Dave picked you! One's inclination is to compare something new to something else already heard, so, here goes, and I mean this in the most respectful, complimentary way possible. It has a touch of Blow up the Outside (SG) to it, with a dash of Audioslave as well. In short, your voice is similar to Cornell's, but distinct and powerful, not to mention the axe work is great. Can't wait to see you guys in Atlanta (play the Tabernacle, please?). I haven't been this excited about something new in a very, very long time. Godspeed, and keep Rockin!
ok people, i just posted the same thing on 6767, but i thought i should post it here too:
OH MY FUCKING GOD!!!! guess what people: i was just listening to our local radio station for modern rock/ alternative music, and they mentioned the panic channel! the announcer said something to the effects of this:
"Dave Navarro, Stephen Perkins, and Chris Chaney, basically everybody who was in Jane's Addiction other than Perry, have decided on a name for their new project. It's called The Panic Channel. And who's going to be singing for this new band, you may ask? well, it's Steve Isaacs, the old MTV VJ and from Skycycle. They made their debut last week at the Dragonfly club in L.A. blah blah blah" then he read a quote from this site.
i couldnt believe i heard this on the little itty bitty missoula, montana radio station! of course, all of us know about this stuff, but i pronounce the word about TPC has offically gotten out. Once it hits montana radio stations, then it has reached quite a ways.
Anyway, I just thought i'd share that with you guys.
Is anyone else getting this song stuck in their head? Luv it man. And to anyone stuck on aohell I was on it for several years and made the jump to earthlink cable a year ago. Its wonderfull!!!!
Steve, congratulations, this is a really good song. I just listened to it on my home PC with some extra low-end and it sounded great. Sorry I missed this show and keep at this: rock is pretty stale right now and you have a better chance than many of getting your stuff heard. Many internet dwellers and probably very jealous and negative, but screw them. I have 100% percent faith that this will at least be a kick-ass record and you've got a most incredible set of musicians behind you. Stay confident. I hope that this project is very creative in the studio and continues to grow as a powerhouse live act. GOOD LUCK and best wishes.
