The Vacuum

face_close_iconThe lull after the tornado. Sucks. today really just sucked. No specific meaningful reason, guess just working so much and focusing so much on the show, and then two days of (sound of crickets chirping) ...the vacuum. Yesterday went to Ameoba records with Dan and got The Led Zeppelin DVD (never seen it), and The Who's "The Kids Are Alright" DVD, and the CD of The Who live at the Isle of Wight. I have been looking for a live recording of the Who playing "Tommy". After a year and a half of singing Tommy in the play, I didn't listen to the music for years. No bad vibes or anything, I just found myself getting so lost in memory, and part of me always misses the feeling of doing the show when I hear the music, that I just avoided it. Now, enough time has passed that I just want to hear it again.

Afterwards, we went to Melrose Ave. and looked around. Record shops, clothes shops, tourists.

Later, we met up with Riss and saw Sarah Silverman's "Jesus is Magic" show at the El Portal. Really funny.

dude, the zepplin dvds are incredible

sarah silverman cracks me up. she's too cool. is she still dating jimmy kimmel? i just watched School of Rock again the other night and she's so good at being a bitch!

about three years ago, when i first started going to fullerton college, the theater department put on a production of Tommy and they rocked. it was amazing! so cool to see such talent still in it's early years. i have always loved The Who, and knew the music, but i never actually saw Tommy and that play was my first time seeing any production of it. i took my dad with me and we were both just blown away.

and then i heard you, steve, do some of The Who at NASCAR and all those feelings came rushing back. you nailed it. really. obviously got my attention.

steve, i emailed you some pictures i took of you at NASCAR - did you get them? i sent all the rest to dave.

and you guys were great on tuesday also. i am so glad that i was able to be there for your first show. i was so bummed that i couldn't stay long enough to meet you all. i feel like there may never be another chance like that... you guys are gonna be huge. and thanks for the shout out - as i said on 6767, it was such validation for you to mention all of us from 6767. it felt like we BELONGED there. thanks.

enjoy your new DVD's.
