Got my wish
Raining about an inch an hour here in Los Angeles. Bring it on, I say. It's going full blast right now against the window as I write this.
Began vocal tracks today at our producer's home studio. It's a good vibe over there. Some windows looking out over the hills (a good change from the windowless studio world of last week), lots of hot tea, and a green lava lite. Hopefully this weather keeps up, I love it for the work we are doing. Dave, Stephen and Chris are in NYC for the week doing a Camp Freddy show, so I can focus on my part of the recording.
Reading "Ouija: The Most Dangerous Game" by Stoker Hunt. Great source of Ouija information - much better than the one I just finished, "Ouija: Doorway to the Occult", by Edmund C. Gruss. That one was from the "Christian perspective" and got a bit preachy. I am really into this new one. Have a couple more books on related topics that just came from Amazon.
This Saturday they are having the last Cinespia event at Hollywood Forever Cemetery - they are showing "Rosemary's Baby". Not sure if I am going or not, but if you are in L.A. - DO IT. You'll thank me.
Riss (my girlfriend) and I were going to get our pumpkins tonight for Halloween, but it was too rainy.

Rosemary's Baby!!!! That would soooooo rock!! If only I didn't have these tickets to Camp Freddy....(lol).I'm bummed that I didn't get the chance to go to any of the Cinespia events :(
I'm with you about the rain Steve...all of a sudden my flowers are all perking up, I just hate the added traffic, but to listen to the sound of the rain as I sleep is so nice :)

Steve,
I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your friend, but I'm sure she'll be with you as you guys tour and play the tune. She'll probably make fun of you if you miss a note :). Just a suggestion, as I notice you've been getting into some books about the unknown as of late. Have you explored the astral projection phenomenon? I'm no shaman, nor am I into any new world or space age religious crap, but I do definitely believe in astral projection, as I've experienced it first hand. There are many books out there, just google it if interested. Pretty interesting, and a reaffirmation of an afterlife, imo. Take care, and good luck with the recording.
Peace

Rosemary's Baby is a great scary movie!
Odd, you guys have rain, and we don't in Wales. Abby~When it rains, do your flowers perk up, or do they suddenly appear like in the desert?
I'm getting that Halloween feeling myself. Wondering if I can find a pumpkin here...
Steve~Who is your producer? Have you told us before, and I missed it? Or is it a secret for now?
Love to all
Lisa

I went to one of the movies at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery in August, and it was a great time. Bring a blanket to lay on, and another blanket for warmth. Get there early to find a good spot on the lawn. No tall chairs, but you can use those short little beach chairs. Bring lots of wine, cheese and other snacks, and have a good time. They have a DJ playing good music before and after the movie. It is a great time and I look forward to going again next year (I am booked this weekend).

Steve,
Have you seen the documentary "The Young and the Dead" about the brothers that bought Hollywood Forever Cemetery and restored it? My TIVO happened to record it on HBO last week, so I watched it and it was pretty interesting. Here is a link to a CNN article about them http://archives.cnn.com/2002/SHOWBIZ/Movies/06/19/hollywood.cemetery/index.html
Also, have you seen the documentary "Dig!" about The Brian Jonestown Massacre and The Dandy Warhols? If not, you should really see it. It was incredible and the director won the Grand Jury Prize for Documentary at this year's Sundance Film Festival. It is playing at the Los Feliz 3 Theatres on Vermont. It is definitely one of the best music documentaries I have ever seen. Here is a link to the movie's site http://www.digthemovie.com

According to my old H.S. math teacher, him and his sister got a ouija board for X-mas when they were kids. They messed around w/ it and asked who they were speaking w/. The ouija board spelled out O-l-d N-i-c-k. They were pretty excited thinking they were talking w/ Santa Claus until a relative advised them to look it up in the dictionary, which said "The Devil; Satan". He said he got so freaked out that he ran into the garage and threw it in the trash. End of story. Maybe that was/is an urban legend, but let me tell ya, that guy was the best story teller and could make the hair stand up on the back of your neck! -Al

Wendy....awe you'll be in Phoenix....SEEING VELVET REVOLVER!!! (if my memory is correct) Poor you...lol! J/K I know what you mean, until I won tix on CFR I was in major dilemma between CF and VR. (free tickets always makes it easier to decide!)
I love the rain if I can stay inside...unfortunately recently I can't, so driving while I can't see is not fun (damn window defroster apparently does nothing) Plus I've been too lazy to pull out my winter clothes, so its still tank tops for me...not that you'd ever see it because I have been in constant sweatshirt mode since Saturday! Ugh....guess I should go get some warm clothes....blah blah blah, rant...sorry :)

Steve-Just wanted to drop a line and say hello. I hope the recording sessions are going well. Seems like the rain is finally going to stop. I'm buying guitar gear like crazy, preparing for something, dunno what.
