Halloween Season

face_close_icont was finally overcast in Los Angeles yesterday. God I wish it would rain.

As much as I love Los Angeles, it's lacking in .. changes. The seasons. Rain. Moody weather. This whole year, I think it rained maybe one or two days. It's unreal. The same thing every day, sun, sun, sun. Smog and sun. It's generally wonderful, but I love the rain, the clouds. Yesterday's slight cloud cover at least gave the impression that ...HALLOWEEN IS COMING.

The last couple years, Halloween has hit me by surprise and I end up wishing I had gotten more of a jump on things. I always do as much Halloween stuff as I can: go to Los Angeles area "spooky houses", hit Knott’s Berry Farm's "Halloween Haunt", carve pumpkins, the whole nine. This year, I am looking at all of October as "Halloween Season" ...and IT'S ON!

This Saturday, I am getting some friends together to go to Cinespia.

This is one of the coolest things I've ever found to do in L.A: during the summer months, they open up Hollywood Forever Cemetery for movie nights! They project an old movie on the side of the mausoleum on the south side of the cemetery, and people bring picnic baskets, blankets, and candles, and hang out the lawn facing it and watch the movie under the stars. Hollywood Forever is a beautiful old cemetery and lots of movie stars are buried there. This weekend's selection is "Network" the prescient 70's drama about a newscaster who becomes a kind of media messiah after announcing on-air that he will commit suicide in one week. Good movie. "I'm as mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore!!!"

Last night worked on another part for "Project P" : "N1" didn't finish it. Looks like this will have to be written in sequence.

oh my God (again with the Janice voice) A man who can use prescient correctly in a sentence makes me so HOT!!!

I loved that movie...Not many people have the frame of reference to get the joke, though, whenever I decide to do my Howard Beale impression!

I passed that cemetery on the way to your show last week, I was curious about it then, but, do you guys sit on lawns where people are buried underneath...hmmmm, don't know about that one

Let's have a Panic Channel night at the movies there, what do you think, Steve?

Wow, there is so much I don’t know about. New mission for this weekend, explore LA and find something I never heard off. Nah, too lazy probably will just sleep in.

I just love Halloween. It’s the best holiday of the year. Can’t wait to get my pirate costume ready.

Happy October!

I've worn out "Go On" on my computer...it won't play it anymore ; ) Any chance of another download from the show, please?

"She Won't Last" (hint-hint). Have a good weekend.

I LOVE Halloween Steve! My fave holiday, I think....and that movie at the cemetary sounds like the most bitchin thing I've ever heard! I think my friends would be oh so weirded out by it tho...I should find some more adventurous friends...lol.

WENDY!!! Don't feel guilty!! You are gonna have an amazing time and I WILL be jealous! I love the spontaneousness of it, you rock!

Hi Colleen! I hate politics...;p; ....so yeah...thats me! Actually, I should say that I hate talking about politics, because I think the whole understanding and involvement on the process is important, but when the topic comes up in convo, I vanish faster than.....something fast ;p; (hee hee hee) I'll see ya tomorrow for CFR (crossing fingers)

Hi Colleen! I don't hate politics at all, but it's a huge part of my job and it seems like thats all I hear/talk about at work, especially this close to the election.

As is the case with pretty much all Union people...I am a pretty liberal democrat....so I guess you know what I thought about the debate :D

Anyway...sorry I didn't respond sooner Sweetie...I guess I sometimes and tired of the topic! ;)

Nite, Friends

Hey Steve

Thanks for the Go on & 'banter'downloads I really appreciate it ,as i'm sure do all the european family who weren't able to attend. I've had a really shitty week at work and hadn't had the chance to check in earlier but the downloads put the smile back:O). 'Go on' is a really cool track, love the lyrics. Can't wait to hear the rest of your set.

Steve, learn to appreciate your local 'unchanging' climate. I live in the north of the UK so I am all to used to 'changeable' weather. Believe me going out in sunshine to be drenched in 30 minutes gets old pretty quickly.

I'd also like to echo a post someone made on 6767. When you get to come visit your friends in the UK please don't just come to London. There are so many good venues in the north,Leeds, Manchester & Newcastle etc. Spoead the love guys ;O)

Peace and love

Matt (agent TrippyKitten)

or even spread the love

oops, my typnig si carp! lol

Matt

If you love rain you should come to Vancouver Island on the west coast of Canada. It rains quite frequently here, plus we hardly ever get any cool concerts on the west coast. All good bands just play in Ontario, and if we're lucky, in Vancouver which means making a two hour crossing by Ferry to get there.

Good evening, and welcome to Saturday night

Steve, I caught a few minutes of Camp Freddy on my commodore tonight. I heard Dave mention to Abby that The Panic Channel was going to play another set there.
Don't tease me....:}
jezebel

Abby---whoop whoop!!!(that's jezebel for DAMMIT girl, you go!!!)

Thanks Jez!

i love the rain too. i was so content the last few days. i get in such a good mood when the sky is full of clouds and there's a chill in the air. i think it's cause it reminds me of the holidays. i love the holidays...

hey Abby, i'll be your more adventurous friend! i really would love to go to cinespia. it sounds so... hollywood.

Sarah....your on my friend!!!!

I have to say, I love the rain, but the first bit hwere the season changes(like now) and it starts to get dark early really bums me out...I like when its still light out at 9pm!

BTW....Steve tell us how it went...(can count on you for an excellent description)

Hey folks, just a friendly reminder. If you're going to be at least 18 on or before Nov 4th, the deadline to register to vote is upon us; some states' deadlines have already passed, some are expiring tomorrow (Monday, the 4th). Please take the time to register to vote here:

If anything, the last election proved that your vote does actually matter, even if Gore got screwed. Hurry!
And Steve, good luck with Project P. Sounds like a magnificient piece. I hope it's as successful for Panic Channel as Tommy was for the Who :)
Peace!

yes VOTE!
