face_close_iconThe band has been uber-busy this week, so I will check in, but forgo the usual "making a post readable" and just do it stream-of-conciousness style:

begin____________________________>

My iPod is back from the grave, but is deathly ill. Dried it off, and it starts, but the battery is fucked.

Presidential debates: funny to watch Bush change his game drastically every time to make up for previous debate's shortcomings, and watch Kerry get better.

There are photos on my digital camera right now that I would never in a million years have believed. Nor would you.

Project P - still doing work on it every day, even if it has to take a big back seat lately. Think I will need to play the guys what I have so far (when we have time) and then finish writing it with them, to get an evolution in the song structure, 5 songs done at this point.

Chris Rock is hosting the Oscars. No observation, that's just a trip.

My girlfriend is buying our cats Halloween costumes.

Met Dave's co-author Neil Strauss, he is a fascinating guy. Has a new book he's working on that will be huge - I can't wait for him to finish it so I can read it.

Saturday Night Live got better 2nd week.

Watched "The Exorcist" with Riss with the lights off and right in front of the TV. What a perfect movie.

Dave used a vibrator on a track today.

Wrath and beauty fade.

We are playing once in November and once in December in Los Angeles.

Stephen Perkins and I share an appreciation for the music of Mr. Neil Diamond. Knew that guy had taste.

Speaking of which, Perk's new Banyan record is done and will be coming out soon.

In the studio, strange and disturbing things found on the internet are shown on monitors, involving unique combinations of genitalia, food, appendages, and poop.

Am getting a little worried about my purple amp - having some growing pains that might force me to return it to it's mama and begin my amp search anew.

Fuck Paris Hilton.

Fuck Britney.

I have laughed until I've cried more than a few times since Monday.

Have you seen that web video about the Pentagon allegedly NOT being hit by an airplane (no plane wreckage, etc.)

Reading only books about Ouija boards, ghosts, and speaking with the dead.

Sleeping more regularly now.

No more Panic video until the new site launch.

Beneath our feet our future lies.

Just reading your post has put me in this manic mode of posting....so I'll stop now, before it gets worse ;)

Nice rambling psycho-bable Steve...loved that last post!! Just got done reading DTTAH...insightful book...you're lucky to be in that guy's company!

Question Steve...I know you're hectic busy...but would love input. Ready for my next acoustic and torn between a few models...what have you been playing? I've owned them all at one point or another. Now, I'm newly inspired and would like to know what you think...

Have fun in the studio...can't wait to hear the
results!!

Love the stream of consciousness Steve, and great to have you post.
I was missing your posts, and I see quite a few other people were too.
Love cats in Halloween outfits. Bless. Awww. I love cats. RP~Kittens dressed up. awww...I'm going into awwwww overdrive now.
I miss having cats. First time in my life without cats. Got an overgrown puppy. Been thinking of dressing him, but he'll run around wildly with his ears flying back and tear it the clothes off.

I used to dress my Persian cat in newborn baby clothes. They fit her very well. :D
(She was stolen by neighbours when they moved )

Stream of consciousness is catching! :D

Love to all, best wishes Steve. Enjoy!

hey steve!

glad to know all is well. i love reading the new posts :) because i have a life haha i seriously want to start a blog page of my own. what do you recommend? i don't know too much about html but i know enough to get by. what is a good basic system to use?

otherwise, hope all is well. the nyc 6767-ers and i all met riss at barnes & noble & then again at bookends. what a sweet girl :)

hope to talk soon!

Steve-Glad you are back! Seems like you have been in an extreme mode of cranking out things/songs/music etc. That's good! I read about the purple amp. Bummer!!!! So what's going on with that? Are you have problems with tone or master volume issues? Just curious...if it's sound issues like it's not fat enough or have enough low end have you tried using a 4x12 closed cab than a 2x12 open cab? There's a huge difference there. I'm not sure what the issue is but I hope you can figure it out. If the purple amp isn't the one well at least you have alot of time to look/experiment with some other amps? Man, that amp sounded great something must not be right? Wish you best on that one. Take care.

Brett

"Wrath and beauty fade"
i agree but disagree.. i would say it sometimes does, but it can last in certain cases.

I'm obviously no expert but I think you should keep the purple amp and if you can, get another one in addition to it. I figure the more equipment you have to work with the better since you'll need different equipment for different situations. Trust me, the purple one will come in very handy when you do an outdoor gig.
Is it hard to record with? not satisfied with it because of the lack of volume control?

Maria

Maria-Your right, that would be horrible to get rid of that amp. Yeah, maybe just get another one with more gain to it. Maybe use it as a slave amp? Then again it could be something so simple as just changing out the tubes and getting different ones? Or maybe getting an 10 band eq pedal to balance it out? Or you could just talk to Phil Hutson (I want his job by the way!) he could stear you in the right direction. I got back back from my break and was mad brain storming this one. Any other thoughts here people, I know other people play guitar as well?

Brett

I've recently sent my iPod in for service and they sent me a brand new one.

I am still inside my first your of iPod-dom, I don't know how long you've had yours.

Just as one of the other comments said, they sent me a box to mail it in... all I had to do was call DHL to have them come get it, and I had my new iPod within a weeks time.

I sent mine in because of poor battery performance. Maybe you can get away with that as well.

Good luck.

maybe it's a little dumb, but...
is Riss your wife or girlfriend?
please answer. anyone.
thanks,
much love,
Obvious

I'm curios as hell about the pictures too. And what's up with all the Quiji board/dark stuff. Is it all about the Panic? Not making too much sense here.

hey steve, we talked about the amp briefly at the Citiwalk signing, i had the TPC shirt on. i work for an amp company... if you want, hit me up and i can give you some options on stuff and other D/13 amps that might work better. good luck with everything man

16-days... I like counting down, it reminds me of X-mas when I was a kid.

I've got a good ouija board short story that one of my H.S. teachers once told me, so maybe I can work on condensing it down into a few sentences to share (if interested). Kinda freaky. TGIF -Al

love this post. really. just LOVE it.

vibrator, huh? intriguing...

my boyfriend just told me last night about Chris Rock doing the Oscars. i didn't really have a reaction. missed SNL last week, but anything had to be better than the premiere. i know we'll never see those pics, so i won't even bother asking...

glad to have you back here Steve. you can tell we've all been going thru withdrawals. =)

Steve,

just a quick thanks, i have band practice shortly and your advise for me to warm up before practises and gigs is really helping out! its great, everytime i walk into practise my voice is just nice and warm and ready for action from song 1

thanks again!
kyle

heLLo!

Just a quick PlugIn for our favorite iPod! This is an iTunes Plug, that allows you to transfer any songs from the iPod to the library on your HD! all that within iTunes! Works like a charm! best way to get a backup while you still can.

http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/24623&vid=163486

Unstuff it, and install the package, restart iTunes, and there you go. Grab it before Apple pull it back!lol

Thought I'd use this opportunity to tell you all I'm crying right now after listening to a song written by one of my best friends.

His band is called The Kissing Time, the song is called Come Closer, and it's truly beautiful.
If you're stuck for something to do, go and check it out.

Wouldn't normally spam like this, but I am so emotional right now!

Definite Sunday listening...

Peace out all

What kind of vibrator did Dave use? Thinking of some art for his site you see. :)

Steve- Hello, I hope all is well. It's finally raining here in SD. How is the weather by you? So did you make a decision on the Div/13 amp yet? Just curious. You know "we" love that amp by the way. Anyway, I am at work and to defeat utter boredom and job burn out on a Monday I hooked up a laptop next to my crappy social work computer. I am watching a live concert video/DVD of "Shudder to Think" in 97 as I am writing this. So what do you dig about S2T? Like I said, Nathan Larson is the straight up bomb. You should see him rocking out, very cool. He only used one pedal on that whole album. Just straight into the Marshall kinda of vibe. Ohhh by the way do you want a copy? X-French T-shirt is on there. Well I have to slip. I hope you are doing well, writing, rocking out and maybe getting some sleep. Take care.
