A Bit Rushed...

face_close_iconOk, I have a tons of stuff to post on (Graveyard tour, Halloween, Parties, Disneyland) - I plan on getting to it later today, but for now let me say that if you are in America, please go out and vote today (you know who I am voting for...). This is a big one...

And to everyone who has participated in the spirited political debate over the last few days, I applaud all of you (yes, ALL). This discourse has been a really great eleventh hour inspiration for me to re-examine my own views and convictions before election day. You all have raised some solid points and have revealed yourselves to be a very sharp group, and I am lucky to have you all clicking around my humble website.

Many, many thanks.

“and I am lucky to have you all clicking around my humble website.” I think it’s great especially for insomniacs that are jumping around constantly looking for new stuff to read. It’s really quite enjoyable to read especially the tangents. I think the best part about it is that you welcome a good debate with open arms.

About voting, I think this is going to be the biggest voter turn out in history. Well it doesn’t take a genius to figure that one out. Shit I even got an e-mail from MTV and VH1 reminding me to vote. I don’t think I got one four years ago. It seems as if everyone and their mother have reminded me to do my civic duty. My boss even said that it would be ok if I was late to work or if I had to leave during. And she’s a very punctual person. I can’t wait to see the results Nov. 3rd. Even Scott Weiland felt motivated enough to post a political statement. http://www.velvetrevolverforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=8015.

I guess I better go to sleep if I’m going to vote before work.

Another insomniac here. That or my cycle is naturally up at night, sleep in day. :D
The debates on here were quite enjoyable, I agree. Nice to have a challenge.
Well, I can't vote obviously, but I know who I would vote for. Good luck all USA voters. That's everyone who is a grown up I hope!

Love Lisa xxxx

Am a bit ignorant as far as US politics go I'm afraid... still, it was interesting to read... ever thought about being a UN ambassador?

Kittens sleeping like bookends...too much paperwork...

Have a good one

Hey Steve,
The site looks great...I have never been able to get any audio from GO ON live though, even from 6767...my QUICKTIME only displays the visuals, too bad because I am DYING to hear something... perhaps some of the RED SOXs fortune will rub off on the polls tonight for a certain senator from mass...VOTE KERRY EVERYONE if you strive to keep your civil liberties, dont cause our forefathers to roll over in their tombs...
Humdrum/Boston MA

Cali peeps...please vote YES ON PROP 72...it is so important for the future of health care in our State!

I'm so lazy...my 6767 post:

"I've just been listening to Shoot and looking at the new TPC site...I love it! Very, very nice work, Steve.

I know there may be issues that make it impossible; but it would be so awesome if Shoot could be a bonus or hidden trak on the TPC cd....may have Dave and/or TPC add a bit to it...it's such a great effort...more people need to hear it! :D

Any...off to see what sounds Steve has for us on the TPC site...Happy Tuesday, all!

Thank you, Mr. Isaacs, for the forum. I really hope, pray, beg, plead, for a change. You and I are 100% in the same view, and your very intelligent, witty response to Ed in your 10 reasons sounded as if I were saying those same words. Thank you again and May God Bless America!
Peace

Hi Steve and fellow "suck asses"

I am proudly wearing my 'I voted' sticker. Waited in a line of over 100 people starting at 6:30, didn't mind, there were MEN, after all! Please, guys, don't let long lines dissuade you, and please think about the fact that Electronic touchscreens do not have a backup paper trail. There is no way to make sure your vote counted. You can ask for paper ballot, but make sure you get help filling out envelope it goes into, if even one mistake, the whole vote is thrown out. There is an 800 number you get on voter stub, you can call and make sure they counted YOUR vote!!
Now get out there and do your civic duty!!!
love to all of you!
jezzi(political zealot)

Steve, Good morning! Did you vote yet?

Please go out and VOTE people!!!! The turn out where I voted this morning was huge, however the voting process was extremely simple and quick so don't be intimidated by the lines! It was awe inspiring that there where tons of people my age and College students. Get to the Polls by any means necessary..if you don't have a car go by bus, a bike, by train, cab, carpooling with friends whatever you have to do, get there and make your voice heard. I proudly Rocked my vote at 7:45AM and I am wearing my "I Voted" sticker. So to the Beautiful People reading this- Represent!!!!!

Brett

I went to vote and there was no line. I still used it as an excuse anyway :D. I got to work half an hour late. I know, I is pitiful.

hellz yeah baby, election day!
I'm leaving work a little early to head out to vote.
I've pretty much figured out my decisions but am still baffled by proposition 66. I had some law in school and reading through the text of that proposed law at this moment I feel that I don't have enough information to vote on it. I'm going to see if I can find some more of the mentioned sections of the penal code on the net (ie section 1203.09, 186.22, etc) that weren't in the text of the proposed law included in the voter information guide. Hopefully those sections are referring to the petty and non-violent crimes.
maybe I'm looking too much into it, but if I'm going to vote for the first time I'm going to be informed on what I'm voting on.

as far as prop. 72 goes, that is getting too close to Socialism for me which I have seen first hand... it's good in certain aspects but bad in others and the bad outweighs the good.
I think there should be more focus on developing a program for the homeless that will provide them with healthcare (including for mental illness), counseling, housing, job training, and employment. They are all over the streets every day (well here in LA at least) and they need somewhere to go.

Steve question,
Why does everyone except for Dave have pictures of the back of their heads and hands?? Also the first Chris picture on the third row doesn’t work. A different picture pops up.

Hi Steve

Best of luck with the band, I wish you much success.

Do you remember Rob Lamothe from the Riverdogs

Dave

Mortisha...let me just give you my little pitch for Prop 72....don't believe the crap on the commercials.

This wonderful State, in it's wisdom, passed SB2 last election....which would mandate that employers with more than 50 workers provide medical insurance and pay at least (I believe) 80% of the cost. Obviously, there are some exceptions but, that is the gist of it.

This will help our health care system in many ways...so many people don't have health care and have to depend on our emergency rooms for day to day health needs...it bogs down the system, takes needed funds away from the homeless and mentally ill and the taxpayers and those with health insurance pay the costs, our rates go up and our health care benefits are jeopardized. WE WON..FAIR AND SQUARE...IT WAS A GOOD BILL AND WE WON!!!

But large greedy corporations, like Wal-Mart (don't even get me started on them!), McDonalds, etc. have tried to overturn SB2...hence Prop. 72

The people who own Wal-Mart have more money than just about anybody. They are DISGUSTINGLY HUGE and can easily afford to provide benefits for their employees...they claim they do provide benefits...it's just that they put so many hurdles in the way, most of their employees don't meet the criteria for the benefits. Many Wal-Mart stores provide their new hires with information on how to get foodstamps and government provided health benefits (medicare/medical...I get them mixed up)....which makes it apparent these workers are being taken advantage of....they aren't even being paid a liveable wage, much less receiving benefits.

Wal-Mart and others like them just keep getting richer on the backs of their hard working employees while everyone else pays the cost!!!

Prop. 72 is not perfect, but it will go a long way in the right direction.

***Ahem..steps off my soapbox***

Sorry for the rant...we've just worked so hard on this over the years.

Thank you so much for the new site its really awesome! I loved the little questionnaires you guys did . Made me laugh out loud a lot.

Love always,
Georgina
Panic Agent 2588

Ha ha ha Jezzi!!! I voted last Friday, but saved my sticker so I could rock that sh*t today!! LOL

i know that getting the "i voted" sticker is trivial in the whole scheme of things, but i was really bummed to find out that they had run out of them at my polling place. i don't have to wear one so that everyone knows i voted... but it just feels so damn good to sport it. but i did my duty today. I VOTED! even if i don't get a sticker =(

i suppose, though, that it's a good sign. they ran out before 2pm and there's still many hours left.

hey steve!

compliments for the web site
very compliments for your ideas

i'm italian but i still remember when MAD (that i've bought often)depicted W. Bush as "the idiot bastard son" of Bush senior with cocaine traces on his nose.

hoping that America regain a brain this night

i sincerely express my admiration for being such sincere and clear in exposing your opinions

love
dozzo

even Spike TV has the words "vote today" in the bottom left corner of the screen during all it's shows today...

well it looks like the "the idiot bastard son" is winning both races. He has more popular votes so far and only needs 77 Electoral vote to win vs Kerry who needs 181

I meant 158. I can't count today.

Apparently today, niether can America...

ok, guys, let's not panic. Provisional votes, of which I have one, take up to two more days to count. Stupid media pundits trying to call an election with 15% of precincts reporting. Worry not, dear Steve and rest of peeps, let's wait till all votes are counted

jezzi(fighting the good fight)

Well sadly it looks like bush has it. If he wins Ohio that's it. I can't believe it.

http://www.nbc4.tv/elex2004natl/index.html

United we stand divided we fall.

Is it me or does America seem more divided than united these days?

I don't think it really matters who wins or loses the election. America is more divided than united.

I hate politics and I can't wait until all this shit is done. I did do my part today and voted. But when I finished I asked myself... will it really make a difference??? who knows.

anyway for those of you who know about he shit I have gone thru the last couple weeks. I just want to say I am winning.
thanks for the support from all.
much love to all
Ron

It's over, I need a drink. A stong one. I can't believe it. I wish I had the cash to leave. Damn "free america"

Walmart makes me ill. :S

Actually, so do McDonald's if I eat their burgers. :S

Steve: I know you love poker, and found this on some "joke" website~
"Buffett's Poker Principle
If you've been in the game thirty minutes and you don't know who the patsy is, you're the patsy."

(makes me feel a little worried actually.....looking around...am I the patsy?....)

.•:*¨¨*:•..•:*¨¨*:•..•:*¨¨*:•..•:*¨¨*:•..•:*¨¨*:•.

Happy Birthday Jezzi!! Its a party! Woo-hoo!

Happy 29th girl!!!!! ;)

See ya soon!!!

.•:*¨¨*:•..•:*¨¨*:•..•:*¨¨*:•..•:*¨¨*:•..•:*¨¨*:•.

I can’t believe that the Jerry Springer guest and audience really are a microcosm for America. My friend and I debated this at length years ago and I refused to believe that the majority of people here really were that ghetto. I guess I still believe in fairy tales. If we make it for another 500 years they will call these years the dark bush ages.

good morning everybody!!
Thanks for the birthday wishes Abby...hahaha,29, ah yes, I remember it well, my son was 2 months old, I felt as old as I am today, and today I feel as old as I was then...funny how life works out that way

Steve, and other peeps, no matter who wins, don't give up. What did you do yesterday, you exercised your right as citizens. Now, go and do it some more. Make your voice heard locally....Me, I am waging political war on several fronts, not the least of which is that I personally never pull forward at a drive thru....
ok, ludicrous example, but you get my drift. For one, it's not over, and B...Steve has turned us on to the political zealot lurking in us all...
ok, off I go to do the birthday thing....
jezzi(Hugs for Steve and Larissa!!)

Kerry has decided to concede. it's over folks. we are stuck with Bush.
I don't believe it. I do not believe that a majority of the american people actually voted the way they did. It HAS to be rigged or something.
The good news: the stem cell research proposition passed.

and to those who had the choice and voted against gay marriage I have just one question:
HOW IS 2 PEOPLE GETTING MARRIED GOING TO NEGATIVELY AFFECT YOU??

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JEZZI!! :0)

I am so disapointed today I am speechless.......The only thing keeping me motivated today is that half of the United States hates Bush.

Brett

Jezzi- Happy Birthday!!!!!!!!!

OMG..I'm so dissapointed.....R3 your so right, we are so divided..I just don't know what to say, this just sucks!!!

To all good Americans.
I am truly sorry and disappointed for those of you who wanted a positive change, a change for America, and a change for the World.
Don't give up, for the light is still lit, and a voice has been heard.
Peace, truthfully Peace!

Isn't the "Indian Curse" still in effect? :P

I been thinking lately
thinking to myself
Too many questions and too few answers
and so little help
I've been thinking about my life
as the century turns
I hope somewhere there's a meaning
and some thing I learned

Don't you worry about the world
'cause I do

And with the way things are changing
don't you worry about the world

What I see around me
is making my head spin
Wish I knew what could be worth believing in

Don't you worry about the world
'cause I do

It might not be my place to say
but we've seen some better days

Don't you worry about the world
'cause I do

Steve, I hope you don't mind me hosting that nugget of a tune...

people on BART (SF) all looked like they were all recently diagnosed with cancer. kinda true in a way.

Just have to say WE STILL kick-ass and know what time it is! Just chin up, mates!

Hey Steve I.

Just wondering... are you gonna put more live footage from the September 21st show on TPC site? The performance of Go On is amazing and I can't wait to hear/see more of you guys. I was impressed by your voice and I think you fit perfectly with Dave, Perk, and Chris.
OK, enough ass kissing from me. Later!

Trent O. -so bummed about the thought of 4 more years of Bush and Dick :(

Hi Steve or anyone else that has an answer. I want to know about absentee ballots and military ones. Are they ever counted? Are they only counted if they are needed? I would think that especially in state measures that are so close they should be counted. What’s the point of doing and absentee ballot if it’s not going to be counted?? I don’t get this can someone please explain it. I’ve asked numerous professors here at work and no one seems to have any clear idea of what happens with them. By the way I'm starting early. Vote for Hilary 2008 :D

i don't think they count absentee ballots if they won't make a difference in the election. say, for example, there is a difference of 150,000 votes, and there are only 100,000 absentee ballots... even if EVERY one of them is for the losing candidate, they won't make up for how far ahead the winning candidate is. so i think that's the gist.

MY issue is... how can a leader be chosen by only 3.5 million votes, when more than 100 million people voted? how can it feel to know that half the country voted against you? i don't see how this is a "victory". no matter who won, to win by 51% is not a victory. it means your country is more divided than ever and you are just lucky that more people didn't vote. all i can say is that my state - California - voted for Kerry by about 55%.

Mortisha8 - DITTO!!!!!!!!!!!!!
this whole gay-marriage thing really gets to me. it's so sadly reminds me of a time when interracial marriage was illegal. come on... some cultures/nationalities wouldn't even exist if the Spanish and English hadn't had their way with the Native Americans!!! and marriage... it's not a religous sanction. it's a civil contract. period. that's why you don't need to get married in a church to have it considered legal by the state. and even if you do, it's not legal until you get a license.

okay, i'm done for today.

HAPPY BOITHDAY JEZZI!

Maybe the question of same-sex marriages has more to do with economics than religion, or anything else. Religion is simply used to turn people against it.

Corporations, don't want to fork out more money. I'm too tired to write anymore about it.

Most things boil down to economics, and the morality or people's beliefs are something used to get people inflamed and passionate over something, and make it a huge issue.

I love what you've done til now with the panic channel site Steve, especially the questions you guys answered - it was cool to see some of the similarities and differences between everybody in the band.

(p.s. I still think the "we know who you are" thing is just plain tacky, hehe)

Hey folks, just checkin' in one last time now that the election's over. I worked all day campaigning at my polling station (in a democratically controlled district), and got almost all positive feedback. We didn't win, but I wasn't even expecting to come anywhere near close. I'd be surprised if we didn't win our precinct, and I know we got people here to look at how our state's been represented so poorly over the years. I felt obligated this year to be a lot more active, and I at least feel that I did walked the walk this year.

"MY issue is... how can a leader be chosen by only 3.5 million votes, when more than 100 million people voted? how can it feel to know that half the country voted against you?"

Well, when you judge it objectively against past elections, I think it must feel pretty good. Clinton never had a majority (did he even get to 50%?), and going from losing the popular vote to covering it by 3.5 million must feel pretty good. Not to mention the pick-up in Congress and evicting the highest-ranking Democratic senator. Not a bad day at all for the grand ol' party!

The country is divided along party lines no matter what. I don't recall thinking after Clinton won that republicans were automatically due concessions just so we don't get our feelings hurt. Maybe the leaders said that at the time after all, I don't remember, and it's all a means of political gamesmanship on both sides. If we don't want division, maybe we should have one party? (A lot of people will argue that's pretty much the case already.) Maybe the real divisiveness comes when people try and completely denigrate the opposing party for not being intelligent or sophisticated enough to vote as you would've preferred they had. Surely these people don't deserve to vote! I heard John Edwards talk about "the fight" and "fighting" at least half a dozen times today. He just doesn't get it. They fought the voters, and lost. He won't even be fighting on the Senate floor anymore. He couldn't carry his own state, and now his seat is Republican pick-up.

In conclusion, I'd like to thank the far left for making a difference in all of this. The Michael Moores, the Howard Deans, the Dan Rathers, etc. caused enough of a backlash that, in my opinion, really energized the republican base. It was a close one, and like most people (yes, we ARE in the majority), it took a while to get the good news finalized.

Best of luck with the new band Steve, I look forward to checking it out.

E

I have to say, I am getting a bit fed up with the election talk now. How long will the analysis of this election go on? Arghhhh!

Begging people to talk about stuff like music and art, and other stuff in there own lives.

On my hands and knees. Pretty please.

Love and hugs to the TPC family!
Lisa

Hiya Wendy, taking a look at your pics right now.
I love that first one you linked too..gorgeous colours, and it reminds me a little of sewing, like a quilt maybe. :D Very cool.
Loving the pink with the panic channel on the entry to your gallery too.

Thanks, this is my first time trying that. I think I want to experiment a little more and see what I can come up with.

Have a good night.
Wendy

Let me just preface this by saying: Montana Sucks.

Alright, well gay and lesbian marriages are now banned in Montana, something that doesn't directly effect me, but I still feel very strongly that everyone should have equal rights, especially when it comes to issues of the heart, which marriage falls right in the middle of.
Montana (WHOA SHOCKER!!) went republican. We only have the bare minimum of 3 electoral college votes, but it's just another reason why I am ashamed to be a montanan. Our individual votes don't even really count here (I know, everyone will automatically come back and say, "yes they do!", but hear me out). Since we only have those 3 electoral college votes, we don't influence the president that much anyway, and it's almost guaranteed that Montana will be republican anyway. I'm glad I live in Missoula, a highly liberal town, though, so at least I don't have to get into it with some farmer at the grocery store about my politics. Grr. All I can say is that as soon as I can, I'm either moving to Canada to get away from Bush, or I'm coming out to Cali so that the waves can distract me from the reality of the mindfuck we call America. If Kerry had, by some stroke of luck, gotten into office, I might have started to regain some faith in american politics, but, as we've seen, he didn't and dubya is in office for another 4 years.

I wonder what he'll blow up this term.
paperdove

WOW!!!!!....Now that Craig pryed open the vault!!! AWESOME!!! Does anyone else have any media from the Spooky213 Demo???? My GOD I would love to have that complete demo again in mp3's!! Let's see... I started off with 2 copies back in the nineties (geesh...was it that long ago??)...one coveted one that Steve, you personally gave me...I carried them and wore the hell out of them (cassettes did that)for years. They made it to the East Coast, where I introduced everyone and every musician I played in bands with to our beloved Steve. One eventually was stolen and the last one met it's demise in a flood.

Funny thing is...I was just thinking about that song when Craig...how'd you do that???....lol. Get out of my brain...hee hee.

Those songs meant so much to me and my beginnings as a musician...any help anyone?

K (Trying to change the subject too Lisa!!)

Thank god this election stuff is over!!

I'm from Canada and thats all anyone was talking about here too!

Oh yeah Steve sorry about Bush winning.

Ryan

Thanks K! for changing the subject that is. :D

Maybe Steve can help? I can't I'm sorry to say.

Loitering around...awaiting Steve's next post...

Yeah, Anyways....Steve seems to in another self induced brain storm somewhere. I bet good things are to come!!

So as we wait...I'll hum...wait... I know something better...let's entice him as adoring fans and guess what his thoughts will be in a countdown format....

10> I bet Steve will share his frustrations about 4 more years of...oops...I forgot we changed the subject...

Kev(starts humming)

Ok, one more comment and then I will stop too (HI ED)
Wendy and Sarah...
OF COURSE they count absentee and provisional and military, my vote is probably being counted as we speak, it's why military and absentee vote early.. It does make a difference, they know how many of them have been cast, in this case, it wasn't going to be enough, no matter how many, to sway election, otherwise, Kerry would have waited to concede...In 2000, those ballots DID make the difference, but Gore's camp made a mistake in the appeals process by only asking for a recount in certain counties, instead of the WHOLE STATE...
ok, going away now

jezzi(no, honey, no Hilary!!)

Steve are the vinenish/backdrop looking thing that looks like devil horns that come up around the TPC logo/navigational bar when you enter the TPC website new?? Or did I overlook it before? Either way I like it. I like it a lot. Good job kid!

I think those are new...but I thought the same thing Wendy!! lol I think that is the "flash gymnastics" Dave mentioned....but I wasn't 100% sure, so now that I know I'm not the only one who "just" noticed, I'm pretty sure it is new =)

So in fact Jez, they won't be counting them this time around?

Wendy, I have been adoring those growing vein horns..aha..i think the word is tendrils...
Steve, I love how they "grow" as the page loads. Nice touch. Sublime.
Lisa xxxx

I'm pretty sure that they will all be counted on order to generate statistics. For the groups trying to get their propositions passed, they will want to know the statistics so they can research and make changes to try and get it passed the next time.

The link was complete when I previewed the post, sorry.

Glad someone checked out the Skycycle diddy, K!

ALL of Steve's Skycycle tunes (mp3's) were up on steveisaacs.com but with the site forwarding directly to here I don't know if they'll ever be available again.

I, of course, soon as I heard of the new group, searched out everything I could and downloaded the lot. Just simply GREAT songwriting.

I'd gladly post/host them all but have to ask Steve if that'd be OK.

-Craig

First off...Sue, thanks for posting that link. My computer almost got launched through a window I was so happy reading that. "What's wrong with lip-synching?"....hmmmm....where the hell do I begin?? As a musician, that whole topic burns my ass beyond belief. I can't continue...this topic gets ugly...ask my wife when I didn't shut up for 3 days after that SNL episode.

Yeah Craig...I was gonna see if Steve could help me out with those...they are entirely his works of art, and therefore his to approve of sharing.

While I'm at it...if you're reading this Steve...I just found some AWESOME T's they are selling on E-Bay. They are a retro style shirt with the "We are the Music Makers..." mantra on it with a silhouette of Wonka....they are the Sh**!!!! Only prob is there seems to be no variety of size/colors...I'm gettin one anyways...think it'll be cool on stage!!!

Take Care All!!!
Kev(Still Humming...where the Hell is Steve?)

Steve-Where are you bro? Come back. Anyway, after an insane week, of ups and downs I do have something that makes me feel good. I just bought my first guitar head Hoooooooo! So I know I am not alone here when it comes to guitar stuff. So people who rock, what's your set up like, how do you do what you do?

Brett

Ed,

correct me if i'm wrong, but wasn't it you who said to someone on here "No offense, but I don't really care for your opinion, only Steve's."

tell me, then... if you only care about stating your own opinion, why should any of us read what you have to say? why should your opinion about what i had to say be heard, when you clearly don't care about hearing everyone else's opinion? it's funny that you say you only care about Steve's opinion, because it's obvious that the only opinion you really care about is your own. and you make sure that everyone knows it!

i'm really not trying to be rude, just blunt. i welcome any challenge to my way of thinking, from anyone who chooses to give it. however, i just don't think that someone who is not willing to listen to other's opinions has the right to comment on mine.

you came off as an argumentative asshole on here. and personally, that impression of you hasn't changed in my mind. but then, i'm sure you don't really care anyway.

Sarah

Steve- I have a question, maybe out of boredom, maybe becuase it's Friday, or that I want to get the hell out of my office but I have a thought here I have to ask you. Is there any possibility of you guys having a pre-album three song ep to sell at the Dragonfly, for fans who can't get enough? For other fans and myself, so we don't have to experience PPCSS or aka (Post Panic Channel Show Syndrome) again....ingenious, no?

Brett

Applauds Sarah for speaking her mind. I chose the other route and just ignored that Ed guy. He's not one of us anyway...note: "Checkin' in one last time now that the election's over" as if all he was on this blog to do was rebut against Steve for posting a "Vote for Kerry" image...ON HIS OWN SITE. I am more of the mind..."don't like it...turn the damn channel"

I vote to stop on The Panic Channel!!!! But hey...that's just me....

Kev

Just read this on CNN.com:

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) -- An error with an electronic voting system gave President Bush 3,893 extra votes in suburban Columbus, elections officials said.

So not surprised.

ok, see I am NOT chicken little, I told you guys the electronic system was bogus
