The Panic Channel this Thursday
We are playing our third, and first non-Dragonfly show this Thursday night at Los Angeles's Key Club. It's a pretty big place, and we are part of a 3 band bill set up by Indie radio 103.1, it's their one year anniversary. First on are The Tints (great name), it's a band featuring Flea's daughter Clara. Next up is Doheny, the lovely and talented Billy Morrison's band, word is that they are bringing down a multimedia super spectacle for the show, then the Channel. We are really excited for this one, a larger stage, and a bill with some friends. Also we are hoping to add a new song to the set, one I am fucking orgasmic about, one of the "Project P" songs. We have two more rehearsals, so I think we can get it together, it's a pretty involved jam, but it is sounding really good, so it looks to be in. Here are the details for the show:
The Panic Channel live
Thursday, December 2, 2004
The Key Club
9039 Sunset Blvd
West Hollywood, CA 90069
Advance tickets are available for $10.31 at the box office.
You can get in for $1.03 with a can of food for the homeless on the day of the show.
We play at 10pm.
Show starts at 7:45pm.
And let me let you into to our set time logic: Typically for local shows, you have to tell people the BFT (Bullshit Flyer Time) so that everybody gets there on time, and the time you really play is the ART (Actual Rock Time). So when I say we're playing at 10pm, that is actually the BFT ...the ART is 10:20. That's just between us.

Steve!!! Diggin' the Santa Hat on your logo, though I am a bit partial to antlers....Wonderful pic of you as well, any new styling ideas for the show on Thursday? I liked the black roses and the drum lights...
have a great day,

Just popping in to remind all of you concert goers that many of us will be living vicariously through you so...get your cameras and review writing skills ready!
One of these days I'm going to actually see TPC play for myself....I hope!
Steve...how about a New Year's Eve show in Puerto Vallarta??? This would enable the band to have a nice little New Years' get-away and I can kill two birds with one stone...lovely vacation and ringing in the New Year with TPC!!!
No? OK...a girl has gotta try! How about coming to Fresno??? Hell....just come North a bit, I'll meet you half way!

Hey Steve, I'm with Cori on this one, New Year's show in Puerto Vallarta sounds excellente'. Went there for our honeymoon and just loved it. Big enough you could get the things you needed, small enough to have that 'village' feel.
And I can justify it as work, since I'm sure there will be multiple pieces from project P in play by then ;)

Rantz...glad to hear you loved PV...I've not been there before...getting very anxious to go!

I just received this thought provoking email...I don't agree with everything said here but, there are some valid points:
>WOULDN'T IT BE GREAT TO TURN ON THE TV AND HEAR The US President GIVE THE
>FOLLOWING SPEECH? >
>My Fellow Americans: As you all know, the defeat of
>Iraq regime has been completed. Since congress does
>not want to spend any more money on this war, our
>mission in Iraq is complete. This morning I gave the

>Let me start by saying that effective immediately,

Steve,
Wow, that was an amazing show last night. Like Abby(nice Pictures by the way) said they just keep getting better. The first show was good. The second show you guys really tightened up, and just rocked.
This show now my friends that had not seen you before kept asking me if I was sure this was TPCs 3rd show. The newbies I brought were very into it.
Not sure but the songs sound a lot longer, ("More Epic") and the show really seemed to rock a lot harder. Night 1 was just amazing. I am looking forward to the rest of the parts. Now would I be correct to assume that is the first part of the Multiparts? And how long has the rest of the band been working with you on that part? Just curious cause sounded like they had played it with you a million times.
I stood in the back this time. Not sure why, some friends wanted to hang towards the back. Gave a good overview of the show and was still just as good as from the front the last couple shows. You guys should just move up to arena shows next. ha ha You guys could pull it off.
Thanks for entertaining us so Masterfully again.

First off, thanx Abb (and the others) for those nice pix again! And congrats to the TpC again!
Right, I've just finished recording the Guitar solo part of "She Won't last", as heard during their second gig at the DragonFly.
I kept it simple, I recorded the Drum/bass/2Guitars and solo.
For those interested, I could post the Tab of it.
So here it is, and enjoy!

Hey Steve, another great show. I've seen all 3 shows now and that show last night at the Key Club was on the money. Your vocals were great. I dig the new songs there at the end. Sorry, you caught me off guard last night after the show. I forgot I had e-mailed you after the 2nd show with my new e-mail address. You have a good memory. Well, take it easy man and I'll see you at the next show. Or maybe Disneyland huh?

Lovely double play there by Fidel. Funny thing is these folks always wonder why they get banned... well gee, I wonder...?
I had the greatest time last night! Everything went beyond our expectations, it was pretty amazing...
Night 1 I really liked because it was like an adventure that led you to all these different places. I love to hear variety like that in songs.
I gave Dave 2 PC pins to pass on to you and Riss, hope you got those!

Hey Maria, are you the maker of the PC buttons? I think it was you I got one from at the 2nd Dragonfly show. I wore mine last night and one of your friends stopped me to ask where I got it. I couldn't remember your name, so I just said this nice girl who made them, gave me one. Thanks again for the button.

Steve-Just for you!
THE PANIC CHANNEL Dec. 2nd
A Review of the Show
Drove like a bat out of hell from SD (3:30) to LA only to have a top speed at times of 3mph on I-10 West Santa Monica. The last twenty miles to the show felt like I was driving to Mars. Realized people with expensive cars do not let you change lanes in LA (more on that later.) Talked to the 6767 crew on the way up to ease the tension and listened to the live broadcast. Prior to that picked up food in Oceanside for the show (Misty-It was a pleasure to meet you). Arrived on Sunset Strip and went to the parking lot. Gave my five bucks and the guy said park anywhere! SO I did. I park in between a huge Black SUV and a White Van. The parking attending is freaking out saying I should back my truck in so I could pull out easier (back end of truck first). Note to self after driving 4 hours and desperately waiting to stretch! As I am backing up (Holy Shit its Dave’s Hummer). It was funny, a little nerve racking but I thought I should share. The parking lot attendant then moved Dave’s truck to the front. Note to self-“I park great What? my Toyota Tacoma is not cool or something to be parked next to Dave's truck LMAO!” Crossed the street and talked to a photog for Metal Hammer. Got in line, dropped off the food and went in and was greeted by the Lovely TPC Ladies & Lynn. I was overwhelmed by Hollywood’s finest Rockers representing. It was sensory overload; the musical talent alone in the place could move a mountain. It was so cool to see so many rock stars showing support for each other.
The Tints rocked and the crowd loved it. Doheny came in and they were awesome. Billy’s amps were on fire, pumping out bass thumping riffs that hit you in the chest. Watched the Photog guy have a few verbal scraps with another Photog guy over a camera angle? Went outside and had a smoke, meet Billy and he is a great guy. Called Jezzi (you were missed by all!) Raced in and saw the man of action Phil/and the other G-tech do there thing setting up everything. Phil-I give you a lot of shit about wanting your job but you do your thing very well-respect!
Enter the Panic Channel
Let me say that I saw the first show, missed the second, but the third was the charm and well the overall sound, vision, solo’s, riffs, choruses, shifts, the ups and downs, stage presence was out of this world. I gave a compliment on the first show and said it was so good I didn’t even turn on the radio or CD player when I drove home. (I have my last nights compliment for the TPC guys but it’s at the end of this.) Dave rocked the wah-wah pedal as if Hendrix was speaking from the dead! Perk was on it. Chris had the bottom thump going strong! Steve voice was so powerful! The textures of the songs shifted, changed gears, slowed down, and at times it was full speed ahead. Sonically, these guys are going somewhere off the beaten track, and it is so refreshing. Highlights were Unholy, Loophole, She won’t Last, Bloody, Ashes (Holy Shit!-Always rocks my world) and the eagerly awaited N1 which = Night One. N1 has to be the most interesting, sonic joy ride I have heard in a long time. Screeching accented riffs, soft rhythms……I can’t do this justice here, just amazing.
After the show hung out with the TPC Ladies, got into the VIP lounge and meet Steve-“he actually knew my last name, I was star struck/humbled, then quick talk and a pic.” Finally, after years of waiting I actually met Dave/got a pic. Thanks Dave! I was speechless! Had the luxury of having drinks repeatedly spilt on me and the TPC ladies in the corner by the waitress, however as embarrassed as she was, I complimented her on how fabulous her shoes were (they really were fabulous!) We were comped how many drink 8 or 9? I lost count.
The TPC group/crew left for a bite to eat at the Rainbow Room because all of us were starving. We ran into the post show crowd. Steve came over and talked to us about a lot of different things and it was great. He is really personable, easy going and the conversation ranged from guitar amps, to Nathan Larson, to Jeff Buckley to plans for project P. Steve-I had a blast-Thank you! Said my last goodbyes and headed back to SD. I got back into town around 4 AM.
My ears are still ringing………………………………………………………………..
Ok, here it is………….. my compliment to the guys.
“Steve, Dave, Chris & Perk-They are pushing the “Sonic” envelope at Godspeed!!!!!
Thanks to Abby, Wendy-bird (official photog of the night), Blue Lizard, Sarah, Mortisha8, Misty, Brian, Lynn (have a safe flight back), Annie, Jezzi, Tex (got your shirt), Blanca?, (anybody missing I’m sorry) and everybody else, especially the bands involved, Steve/Dave/Perk/Billy M -103.1 for being what radio should be! & of course the VIP waitress!

Hey, Sarah
I don't think that article is real. It's dated November 29th, for one-- we would have heard about it by now. Also, I thought diplomats had immunity in foriegn countries. I think it's a fake CNN website, because the domain is "world-cnn" not "cnn", but it's nice to think about. I was really happy for a few seconds. Those quotes seemed really bogus, too. A real CNN journalist never would have changed that Cheney quote like they did on their main page.
Plus, I don't think Canada would have ever done that, they would just be begging to be invaded. Canda is smarter than that.
guess we're gonna have to keep hoping...

Hi Steve/Riss,
Here are the pictures. Like I mentioned in 6767.com The reason there is more Dave pictures than anything is because it was much easier taking pictures of him. I had to delete a shit load of the rest of them. They were way too grainy. Anyhow, once I get my super duper camera, this won’t be a problem. Until then, I’ll have to stand in a different spot each gig. I couldn’t even get on shot of Chris. :( . Have a great weekend.
Oh yeah click on my name to go to the pictures. I’ll add captions on Monday.

Steve,
I really can't put into words how much I enjoyed the evening. I think if you look in the dictionary under "artist" they could insert your picture. What an extraordinary human being you are, such a vibe, and a big Thank You for everything, especially the "We want to Thank Lyn for coming out from Atlanta GA" shout out (did that really happen?). And the show, ah man, are you kidding me? Night 1 is an instant classic in the same vein as anything the Who, Yes, Zep or the old school rock and roll Gods did, in an ethereal sense of creating cascading emotions. I'm so happy for you guys, and so excited about this band. Again, Thank You, and Rock On, Brother!

First of all Steve Isaacs is the man. He seems like a really chill guy and he sure can sing. Secondly, I have heard the majority of Skycycle's work and I just bought their EP off of Amazon but I am confused. Why was their album 'One's and Zeros' never released? From what I have read it was a pretty strong album, wut happened? could someone email me or let me in on wut went wrong?
