White Noise

face_close_iconRaining like crazy here in Los Angeles, unbelievable.

Tonight I am going to go see "White Noise", a new thriller about spirit communications and EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomenon). As usual with horror/thrillers, I can't go in expecting much, because they all usually suck, but I really hope this one will be good. It's coming out at a perfect time when I have been reading books about spirit communication and EVP, and watching Ghost Hunters. When I found out that there was a movie coming out about this stuff, I was hooked. The trailer looks good, but like I said, you never know. Good rainy night thing to do.

Working on something for the online Panic Community, and depending on how hellish the experience is, it might be ready by early next week. I think you'll like this one.

Fear Factor: It's about time. I like this idea - suing shitty shows for being shitty and making home viewers vomit.

I'm going to see White Noise tonight too...

I'm a sucker for any scary movie (even the bad ones).

I've been dying to see that, but chances are it won't be this weekend. Maybe Sunday afternoon so I can save myself a few bucks by going to a matinee.

The webiste is fricken cool.. I was looking at it the other day and took the "do you believe in life after death?" quiz. got a score of 60%- Awakening spirit
"You are a very spiritual person. You believe in the triumph of the human spirit over time, space, and this earthly plane, and you look forward to your continued spritual awakening with hope and certainty. You will have no trouble contacting the other side, and you may even be able to assist a soul in need of transition."

then I retook the test changing my answers a bit and got a score of 75%- Ascending Spirit with the same discription. I wonder if I'll get something different if I choose total skeptic responses...

the Transmissions are freaky, especially the one at about the 92 mark... that one really creeps me out.

Steve,

Looking forward to next week's offering.
Let me know whether White Noise is worth the trip. Unfortunately a little to tied up to check it out myself this weekend.

Cheers,

Mike C.(FLA)

I can't watch scary movies. I still get nightmares, or if I do watch one I’m covering my face throughout the movie. I can't help it, I'm just a big scary cat.

Steve...you big tease, you! Looking forward to... whatever it is and hoping it's not too hellish! :D

Steve-This one has better links.

Love the "day after" shots... I went to a Japanese 'shin-nen-kai' (similar kind of party starting in the afternoon) on the 2nd and got plastered. But, the food was great and I didn't ralph...I am proud of that.

Still think the 'Exorcist' is the best scary movie of all time...thoughts?

Hahahaha Maria....you sparked my curiosity so I took the test too!!! Yeah...that one around the 92 is freaky....but it only lets you see that one once..

I read some negative reviews on "White Noise," although I'd love to see a great horror flick! Ever seen "Session 9?" That's pretty wild.

Dug the link there! Pretty time-consuming, mind-numbing stuff! Good times!

That link is out of control! Ouch! Too funny. Thanks for sharing! www.rathergood.com is pretty incredible for finding funny stuff.

Steve, you know I love you buddy, but the Fear Factor thing... We will never see eye to eye on. Fear Factor rules! Know this! If you don't like it, don't go on it or watch it. It's not like the Candid Camera lawsuit going on where the guy didn't know he was on a show, people know what they are getting into on FF.

Hope the white noise experience goes well steve, wanna know what you think.

Gotta agree with Dave on the Fear Factor thing. So this guy was watching Fear Factor, saw the preparation for the rat eating event and didn't think to turn off the TV then? I probably couldn't stomach it, but I'd turn over as soon as they mentioned it. That Candid Camera lawsuit sounds pretty funny though!

My son digs Fear Factor, and is always trying to get me to watch it with him...nooooooooooooo, but how about this, do you think Orange Bowl fans have a case against Ashlee Simpson...or should they have seen THAT train wreck coming?

jezzi

I saw it today man!

I liked it, oooo nasty ooo leg ooooo!

You'll know what I mean soon enough!

went to see White Noise myself lastnight...i've actually experienced EVP...i'll try to get an mp3 of it and the proper story up someplace soon...

I recommended this to Steve, but I'll pass it along. If anyone wants the piss scared out of them, I'd suggest renting "The Last Broadcast". Was out a full year before Blair Witch, and it's generally believed that BW 'borrowed' much of it's style from TLB. However, BW didn't scare me in the slightest.

TLB was the first movie I've had to make sure the lights were on all over the house before going to bed since I was in Jr. High. Creeeeeepy.

If that guy wins the FF lawsuit and gets $2.5 million dollars, im moving to America next year just to watch that show and then put my claim in!

On a serious note, I like rats and although I know they aren't everyone's idea of cute I get pretty angry at how they are used for 'entertainment'.

I mean hey, fuck it lets get the coliseum shit together, pop some scary (drugged) animals in there and get contestants to face there fear for greed by stamping the animals to death and then eating them.

Sorry, I'm hung over but elements of shows like fear factor just make me think that we are going the wrong way. We get all this deep spiritual shit, love and whatever then flip the channel to see blended animals consumed by fame seeking money grabbers?

HELLO? HELLO?

Nik...here's something for you

Ben, most people would turn you away
I don't listen to a word they say
They don't see you as I do
I wish they would try to
I'm sure they'd think again
If they had a friend like Ben

STEVE!! Hey, can we call Indie and request Bloody Mary, do they have it on their playlist? Also, I tried to get more Panic Channel stickers to send to people overseas that sent my cherubs Christmas cards, but no one at Indie seemed to be able to find any....Could you get me some info as to how I may obtain more? Will they be at show on 27th?

thanks
jezzi

Jezz baby! I'll get my middle name changed to Willard!

93,
Greetings Steve. Was looking for some info on Danny Saber, the producer and fell into your web. He used to play music with an old friend of mine ... Issa Joone. Anyway, enjoyed reading your posts. Seems you're really into the psychic stuff. If you're ever in the mood for the real thing ... check out the site of my favorite Psychic, Voxx. She's really into EVP, channeling, magick, etc. Here's a link:

Apparently, her mother played bass for Christian Death back in the day. Good luck with your new project. Hope to hear from you sometime. Also, let me know if you have a good contact for Danny Saber ... his rep or contact. Take care.
