Things That Go Sonic Boom In The Night
The night before last around 3am I heard, or more like felt a huge boom in my building that felt like something had hit it. I looked out my front window, but nothing... just the dark courtyard. This loud thump was big enough to sound like my walls were shaking, and then nothing, not a sound. I got in bed, then started to hear music from downstairs. Some kind of melody was just audible... it was really lovely, and played in kind of a loop. The neighbors who live there are gone for a couple days and I am taking care of their cats. This was getting really strange. I had just been downstairs looking around, and didn't see them home, so where was this music coming from? I got up and turned off the fans on my floor and ceiling. Dead silence. Maybe it was some audio anomaly with the two fans' white noise? Turned the fans back on and went to sleep. Found out that the thump was the Space Shuttle coming back into the atmosphere at Edwards Air Force Base. The music is still a mystery.

i know you hear this like every day, but i love your blog and your links. i can't really put into words what it means to me to have actually met you in person, that you are so genuine, and i get so much enjoyment out of coming to your site. i really don't have very much time to do all that i wish i could online, but your site is one that remains a top priority.
i'm excited for narnia too. when i saw the preview in the theater, i new what it was right away and got the chills. i haven't thought about those stories in like ten years.
"alone" is excellent. i haven't been able to hear your voice in a while because my computer took a digger and i have been using a laptop that does not have sound. it's refreshing to hear you again.

Those spinning teeth are hypnotic.
(frightening..like a fun house that gives you seasickness)
I misread the link on the teeth site as "Help with Holding your teeth" That made my head spin too..trying to make sense out of what holding your teeth was all about, and why...

Wow, you got to hear the space shuttle Discovery make sonic booms as it went subsonic on its way to Edwards? You may not have thought that hearing a strange boom in the night was cool at the time, but I have been a big fan of the space program for as long as I can remember, and I think that it would be really neat to hear something like that! I actually watched the Discovery land live on the NASA TV streaming video feen fro when it did its burn to leave orbit until when it landed at Edwards over an hour later. Some really neat stuff! I also found your story about the mystery music to be fascinating.
Anyway, I am very much looking forward to hearing The Panic Channel's new album, and I absolutely love your song "Movin' On." I just recently had a falling out with a girl myself, and Movin' On really captured the kid of feelings that I was feeling. It's a fantastic piece of work!

I must have slept through it on this side of town. As for the music, the building has a lot of history to it, so who knows, you might have picked up something that evening. Love the photo of Chuck.

I Love Deadwood. I get it through Netflix. It's my second favorite show next to Battle star Galactica.
The execution of Flora was pretty hardcore. I liked her to bad they killed her off so soon. I knew that girl was a grifter ; )
