I am in one of those modes where I have an avalanche of things to post about, but every time I sit at the computer, I am either working on the Panic Site (almost done, swear it!), or trying to figure out how to get this blog set up in Movable Type. Which has been painful. I'm almost there. I think. Or really far from ready. Or really close. I don't know. What I do know is that it feels like doing brain surgery with the only the nutrition information on the side of a box of Lucky Charms as your guide book.
So here's just a bit of news.
Yes, The Panic Channel is going to hit the road in May/June. I don't know the dates or stops yet, but do know that we should be cruising around our fine country for about three weeks. The idea is to get out, play the music for people around the time a single should be coming out. The record release is still not set in stone. I have an idea about when it will be, but have learned not to say anything about band plans until we're positive about them. As the news of this year's Rockstar show came out this week, it's pretty clear that the Panic schedule and the Rockstar schedule all have to interlock. That's the deal. We are all really excited to get in the bus and go play the songs. Can't wait.
I am going to do a "soft launch" of the Panic site very soon. There is a lot of video to go through, and I have been waiting for our first real band photo shoot before launching it, but we figure that we might as well launch it as is, then add the official band pics as soon as they come in. The photo shoot is this coming weekend.
Creatively I have been really getting into Flickr. My lovely girlfriend G got me a sweet little Canon SD550 for Valentine's, and I have been shooting and posting there. This is my page. You can also get there via the animated badge off on the upper left of this page. I have been a Flickr fan even before I started using the site, just on a web design and functionality tip. They are really on to something over there. The ease of use, the speed at which they change the service, and the quality of the community are all top notch. Web 2.0 makin' it happen.
Did some work lately on the website for a new movie that just opened up in NY/L.A. called "Thank You For Smoking". It's a dark satire about a big tobacco lobbyist. It's really smart and very funny, I highly recommend it. Here's the site.
Ok, I gotta hit hit - there's a little Sunday night poker game across town and they want me to come take their money. Hope you all are having a great weekend. Tomorrow Spring begins!

Wow! I really love your photos. I am always drawn to architectural detail, like the stained glass picture, and the reflection of the palms in the glass. Well, actually all of them are fantastic. Is there anything that you don't do well?

Great pics...love your perspective. Had to smile at the "666" on the license place of the "No Aliens" vehicle. Satan is OK...just no Aliens! ;)
BTW, do you have a story to go along with the Haunted Church pic???
Have a great week, Steve!

Steve,
If possible, could it be set up so that when the tour dates and venues are set in stone, that we have an opportunity to purchase tickets for the shows before the general public? Hell i flew cross country for your last gig, so you know I am good for the duckets...and I am sure there are plenty of others who feel the same way...

And don't forget that little secret UK gig that you are going to perform under the name of "Dr. Simon's book of trifles."
OK, ok, it was a joke....

Hey Steve, If you guy's make up to Northern California try to book this place!
http://www.musichallsf.com/
'San Francisco's oldest and grandest nightclub, the Great American Music Hall carries guests back to an earlier, more elegant era, with its ornate balconies, soaring marble columns and elaborate ceiling frescoes.'
It's a fantastic venue it used to be a Brothel at one point I believe. Just a very special place for a very special evening.
