Fuck You, Internet Explorer

Tomorrow I am off to Chicago for a one day trip. Airport, taxi, airport hotel, meeting, taxi, airport, home.
Bringing my camera to document as much as I can, I've really been enjoying my photo time lately.
Still having some difficulty with the new site design, as I am sure those of you on PC Internet Explorer can tell. I'll try to get the issues all sussed out when I return. Blame it on me and getting all fixated on this goofy liquid layout. Oh, wait, no. Don't blame me, blame Microsoft and their shitty browser.
Seems like this might be a nice time to bring up the fact that IE sucks. Hard. Like as in a subtly holding back all good things in humankind kind of way, and using it is a silent vote for mediocrity, and if you used it to do just one more thing and went over to mozilla and downloaded firefox then trashed IE, symbolically raising your digital middle finger in Bill Gates' face, believe me, it might feel weird, but you'll live a happier life and thank me later.
Ok, sermon over. Do what you like, I'll still love you no matter what.
Banksy strikes again.

Changing browsers is too technically challenging for me. IE will do.
I am also in Chicago this week and it is nice weather. But screwed up when Chicago is sunnier than Irvine...

Mike, I understand your position, but on a 1-10 difficulty scale of one to ten, installing a new browser is about a 2. I would be happy to lead you through it on aim. You have my email, so let me know. Its no problem.
Also might want to know that IE is a one of the main factors that make PCs so vulnerable to viruses, etc.
Take care

I only use IE now for Windows Update (no way I'm using auto update) .. and like you for checking my sites work in both.
IE 7 looks like its just gonna be a bad rip off of Firefox.
Just bought a Canon IXUS 750 .. which in the USA is a PowerShot 550SD.
Got any tips on using it?

i've been enjoying your photos. thanks for all your
hard work on the panic site,
it's wonderfully consuming.
have a safe trip.

Do you have any plans to do an RSS feed for the Panic site? Not enough (ie, none that I know of) bands have anything like that on their sites, and I think it'd be awesome to be able to get a feed for updates to news/media/tour info.
Can't wait to see what's in store.

After all the mac pc debates I decided to buy a mac this past January and this is what I’ve learned so far.
1. Mac sales reps suck monkey balls
2. My brand new mac seems to be slow as fuck… sometimes it has some juice but most of the times I want to stick a fork in my eye to ease the pain
3. I’m not that into firefox but I really need to give it another chance
4. most of the free world is hooked on IE and many applications can’t be done on safari
5. I really like my pc mouse. Having the extra button helps no matter what they say
6. I still think PC’s are easier to use. Mac’s seem to have more steps (well in some areas)
7. Macs are soo much more aesthetically pleasing
8. I do enjoy editing pictures on macs
9. Despite the high potential for viruses, in the last 10 years of being an active PC user I don’t remember ever getting one. (but that has to do more with our techs here)
10. Besides my mac looking so lovely, I’m still waiting to see what all the hype is about. Initially I was in love with it, now I’m just meh.

IE does blow and you need to know quite a few hacks to make certain designs work in that browser. I love FF and IE blows but Safari can also at times. I always have to make sure all my pages work with those three browsers. I finally purchased a Mac and love it. It's so much easier but that right button mouse thing was an issue with me. I have the mighty mouse but learning shortcuts will save you. On a last note I still love PC but more things can go wrong with it than a Mac.

hmm..
11. Shortcuts do kick ass

I'm not a mac user, so I can't address all those issues, and you didnt mention which type of new mac you got, but as far as #3 and #4, I'm pretty sure that you should be trying out Camino. It's like a Safari-ized Mac friendly version of firefox, still built on mozilla.
I go to a super-nerdy top computer science university, and all the mac lovers are hooked on Camino.

Hey Steve,
I know you love your links, have you ever gone to the Chapel of Sacred Mirrors? Alex Grey, Tool artist among other works? We went there yesterday, next time you're in NYC definitely check it out, it's the most amazing museum I've ever been to.
