Maui Adventure

Yeah, the onslaught ended up being more of an on-trickle. I still have loads of half-written posts and stuff to catch up on, it will just have to come when it comes. The plan was to spend last Monday and Tuesday unloading all these posts, but shit happened.

Last week ended up being busy and scattered, ending with our performance on Carson Daly. This should air on NBC late night on the 22nd. We played “Teahouse” and “Left to Lose” and I mixed it up a bit by not playing guitar on “Teahouse” for the first time. I really enjoy just singing and not playing guitar, so any time Dave is all set to do all the string work, just singing is fine with me. Lots more fun.

I am in Hawaii now with G. Had an adventure planned for a while, and now we are on Maui, one of my favorite places on earth exploring, eating amazing food, basking in the warm Aloha vibe, and taking hundreds of pictures. They say Hawaii is the land that God loves the most, and it really is true. Everything is better here: nature, the air, the water, food, the friendly people, I love it so much.

Even with cloudy skies, Maui is paradise. We went on an adventure yesterday checking out the Iao Valley, the site of Hawaii’s biggest inter-island battle where King Kamehameha won the rule of the islands. Strange that a battle happened in one of the most amazing places that you can imagine, with misty capped mountains and a river flowing through the trees.

That battle sounds like it could have been inspiration for a Led Zeppelin song...if Jimmy Page had played a Ukulele.

I love hawaii, still haven't been to maui though. Can't wait to see the pictures. Hope you and G are having a grand time.

duh I see you already have some up...

YOU BITCH!! haha! Maui, so want to go there with my hubby! enough of me pouting and being a brat...

Steve, so glad you got away and ventured off before that tour ya got ahead of ya.

Post a TON of PICS and dont neglect us anymore here.:P

Peace~

You sounded great, as always. Guitar or not.

I hope you guys are having a beautiful time. I dream one day of affording Hawaii. The pictures are helping me to envision it though!

Hey Steve, You're in my home state. You and G need to eat lots of local food for me. There's not much of it here in Denver. There's something magical about Hawai'i and being raised there. I'm glad that you and G have the chance to experience the real Hawai'i (not the tourist packed Waikiki). Live ALOHA !

A hui hou!

Dude... hope you have a bomb ass time...

talk to you when you get back!

enjoy the much need time off and cant wait for the next tour.

Hawaii is amazing! Just went there last month for my b-day with my on again / off again girlfriend. We didn't want to leave, who would? Rented a place in Makaha, away from all the tourists and right in front of the ocean and mountains. Go snorkeling if you haven't already, it's an amazing experience to swim with thousands of fish. Hope you and G have a blast man!

Peace!

The pictures are beautiful and I'm sure don't do the place justice. Have a beautiful vacation before you have to come back and go out on tour again. It's a much deserved break.

THANK YOU so much for sharing your trip with all of us. My mouth dropped at those videos- I would love to go there

The sunset video was amazing, and the glimpse of the jungle walk made me want more.

Have a wonderful time. Can't wait to see you guys on tour.
