It's an absolutely amazing, continuously evolving, living work of art here in Brooklyn. A former Pratt student bought a 3 story building here for dirt cheap back in the 70's and has built upon it dramatically in a sort of street junk architectural style. The place pretty much looks like a superhero (or supervillains) lair. He added about 4 extra stories, built outwards using junk found off the street, created chaotic wall perspectives, and used broken bottles as stained glass windows. There's so much more to it than that of course. I don't know any other way to describe it, so check out the photos and see for yourself.
It's also in danger of being torn down by the city (full story on the flickr link above). So any awareness raised to help save this magnificent work of art would be great. This place is only a few blocks from where I'm currently living, and is breathtaking in person.
Hope you find this place as fascinating as I do. :)
Re your SG blog about the cough that won't leave: garlic my friend, the natural cheap antibiotic you can get at any grocery store. There seems to be walking pneumonia going around.
Add to the garlic - onions for the sulpher blood purifying properties. Go with more anti-inflammatory foods and lots of raw organic celery. Your cough may now be more reactionary to the inflammation. Steroid inhaler if you can afford. Dude - doesn't TPC offer a corporate health insurance program?? Even the most basic plan, high deductible is quite reasonable.
Just wondered over to SG and can't believe so many people are still making such a fuss about Borat! But then I guess we had the TV stuff over here beforehand, so we knew what to expect.
Anyway, while I was over there I got curious:
What do you call your right ear?
when the darkness strikes, as hard as it to remember, it will pass. i hope your T-Day was great. miss your posts but have been listening to your voice (thank you TPC).
It has been a fortnight and a day that Steve has been away. Is he in hiding or ill or he has had his fill of the funkiness of life? Hurry back to the cyberworld of your blog!
