Halloween in New York City
The day is upon us, it's Halloween. This is my first real Halloween in New York City (I used to live here, but didn't really do it up that Halloween). I had no idea what I was doing until last night; my friends Karen and Patrick have sold me on walking in the annual New York Halloween Parade. It's a crazy mess of tens of thousands of people, costumes, floats, music and this year, us! My fiance and some other friends are all meeting up in an hour, then we get in the lineup, and the parade starts at 7.
Decided to go as Andy Warhol. Stopped off at Ricky's, a local wig/costume chain, and got a white wig, some black hair spray, some white mascara (for my eyebrows), and some black horn-rimmed glasses. At lunch a bought a striped turtleneck, and now I think the costume is complete. I'm working on wandering around and stammering a running loop of "wow", "fabulous", and "Bianca Jagger" to archive full-Factory perfection.
We just had a costume party here, and surprise! I got first runner up. Ah yeah, a 75 buck gift certie for a local spa. Hello Anal Bleaching!
I'm gonna take a load of pics tonight, and possibly resurrect my flickr page and dump 'em all in there in a day or so. Hope you are all on your way to a memorable Halloween. If you feel like it, let me know what you chose to dress up as and what you have planned in the comments...

I am going to do my favorite thing in the world tonight...
Nothing. I am going to kick it on the couch with my kitty and watch some downhill mountian biking videos.
As I live in a very small apartment complex I will get no trick or treaters.

Well, I'm not doing anything this year.... again. Except maybe passing out candy :/

OH! or Jonathan Davis!! yeah....
Happy Halloween Steve!!

My friend and I went as kids of the 80s. Kind of lame, but we had no costumes until like three hours before the party. We hit up consignment shops, found t-shirts that said "made in the 80s" and went from there. Denim vests, tattered old jeans, and the disgusting part is that we had no problem accessorizing. I got a pair of day glow green mesh armwarmers at Claire's along with some cheesy earrings. I rocked the side pony tail, we tied our shirts at the side, and we were golden. It was fun! Not to mention that I haven't been that hammered in a really really long time ...
Have fun tonight!!!

Hah! You look fabulous! Sounds like goodtimes. I didn't dress but, I took Karate Kid, a Carebear and the devil trick or treating. The streets were taken over by little heathens of all sorts. It was great to feel the joy with them to say the least.
Oh, and after seeing your post about Radiohead and their 'pay what you want' album, I just got the album. And you know what? I paid $10 bucks for it. I think what they're doing is great.

i totally saw you, but didnt know it was you. there were maybe 4 or 5 andy warhols and edie
sedgewicks roaming around. it took me a minute to remember why this was a semi popular costume.
my favorite was the naomi cambell throwing her cell phone at the maid. this was the first time in 13 years of living in ny that i actually stood and watched the parade. it was so much fun. i wanted to be walking in it too. or on that pink pussy cat float!

I love the costume. I went as an emo kid. We did it up with 'bandages' on my wrists from where I was cutting myself.
Have you heard about Saul William's new Trent Reznor-produced album? He's released it only online for free or $5. The music is good too.

The "party" weekend before Halloween Deena and I hopped down to AC to check out Dave's gig with Skribble. It was fun.
Then on actual Halloween Sue and I went to the "Book Revue" in Huntington Village for Slash's book signing. The streets were packed with kids in costume trick o' treating in all the little shops up and down Main St. It really looked like a little New England town.
Both times I was dressed as myself. And oddly enough I was the only me! ;-)

I worked late on the actual day. But, had two 'parties' the week before. First night was seeing a band called Vayden and wearing my witches had with a shirt with a spiderweb on it. That was the wear whatever night. The second night my friend went as a sexy police woman, and I was the convict. I wore stripes too! lol. Amazingly cops and convicts were very popular....darn, oh, well! Now is the gobble gobble month...so gobble gobble!!!

haha, you look great.
I was struggling to find something cause I found out how soon it was about two nights before it, so I found some stuff and dressed up as a slutty vampire.
Went around partied and had a crazy time.
